  We thank you for the love and the grace and the mercy offered through Jesus Christ. Remind us of the deep truth of our faith today, Father. We pray in Jesus' holy name. Amen. And amen. Today's message is on repentance. That's interesting because this is a message written to the people of God. Jeremiah 7 is actually the temple sermon. Jesus is, I mean, Jeremiah is preaching to God's people in God's temple.

  You see, somewhere along the way, the people of God forgot the reason for the temple. In Israel's existence, God let them build a temple as a reminder that his presence was there. But Jeremiah, in Jeremiah chapter 7, looks at the people and he says, woe to you who say, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord. You see, they were putting their hope in a building and not the builder.
