And I know some of you are going to say, well, I'm not a leader. This does not apply to me at all. Well, each of us has given stewardship of something. And James reminds us in James 3.1. He says, listen, for you who desire leadership, because leadership is not neutral. For you who desire leadership, not many should be teachers, my brothers, which is why it's difficult for us to find life group leaders.

For you who desire leadership, not many should be teachers, my brothers, which is why it's difficult for us to find life group leaders. We ask for you to become life group leaders, and then you show me James. You say, hey, pastor, James chapter 3 says, not many should be leaders. Because we are held to a higher judgment. Leadership is not neutral. And some of you hear this and you say, well, I'm off the hook because I'm not a leader.

So I've affectionately called today's message, Watch Yo Mouth. Watch Yo Mouth. James chapter 3, if you have one of our pew Bibles, it's page 1072. I think that'll get you close. So James is in the New Testament about 80% of the way through the New Testament or more. So the average person, as you find your way there to the book of James, the average person spends one-fifth or 20% of their life speaking.

Not many should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we will receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is mature, also able to control the entire, the whole body. Verse 3 of James 3. Now, if we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we direct their whole bodies.

the trumpets there, you have, in Revelation 2 and 3, you have these letters to the churches. But do you know what those letters actually are? God is, through Christ, is judging the church. Judgment always comes to his people first. James 3 says, I do not suppose that many of you should want teachers, because you know that he, this teacher, will receive a stricter judgment. Judgment always comes to God's people first.
