Just a reminder that there is hope and there is victory even in the midst of chaos. If we look at James chapter 4 today, the back story to this is several months ago, about seven months ago, we planned out the, really the sermons for the first half of this year. So this sermon on this day was planned, I think, last November. And in God's sovereignty, he reminds us that we are but a vapor and that we should not say

And if my plans are only my plans, find me out. Unveil my soul. That way, Lord, your purpose and your will in my life might triumph. That's exactly what James is addressing here in James 4, beginning in verse 13. He's preaching and teaching to men, most likely businessmen, merchants who have built their dreams and their hopes without thinking of God's desire in their life.
