When in Romans

  Martin Luther wrote, the greatest dilemma in all of history is this. How can unjust sinners ever hope to survive a judgment before the court of an absolutely holy and absolutely just God? The psalmist in Psalm 130 also asked this question. He writes, Lord, if you kept an account of iniquities, then who could stand?

  There is a standard. And that is perfect righteousness. So all of us in the room come face to face with this question, just like the psalmist in Psalm 130. We ask God, if you keep an account of my sins, my iniquities, my shortcomings, then how could I ever stand before you as innocent? And the truth is that we can't.

  he said he knew God your promises are enduring. You promised to protect us. You promised to care for us. We trusted you. When the world said that we were crazy Lord I believed in you and you delivered. Are you trusting God today? Psalm 130 verse 5 says Lord I will wait on you. I will put my hope in your word. Church waiting on

  And to have a lack of a husband and a family in a foreign land means that she doesn't have support and she doesn't have identity. And I wonder if Naomi is crying out, as Psalm 130 would say, Lord, out of the depths I cry to you. Have you ever felt what Naomi feels in her spirit? Have you ever been there? Where you say, God, morally, there's nothing.

  Psalm 130, the psalm that begins, Lord, out of the depths, I cry to you. Verse five says this, Lord, I will wait on you. I will wait and I will put my hope in his word. Lord, I will wait for you like a watchman in the morning. And I will wait for you more than a watchman, even at night. Naomi might have been alone, but with the Lord, she was never alone. We're not going to finish the story today, but God was there with her.
