  Have you ever felt so strongly that there's a need out there? And you say, what can I do? Well, in Matthew 9, 35-38, we see Jesus standing in the middle of a crowd just like this. He doesn't see the business or the surface level stories. He sees their hearts. And what rises within him is not frustration or indifference, but compassion. A compassion so deep that it moves him to an action.

  In Matthew 4, it took courage for the disciples to drop their fishing nets and follow the Messiah. It takes great courage, Matthew 4, to leave the boat and your family and pursue the Savior. Matthew 9, it takes courage to leave your career and your tax collection booth and become a disciple of Jesus Christ. It takes great courage when you have the reputation of Mary Magdalene.

  Oh, that we would have faith today that drives out fear. Faith that drives out fear. Consider Matthew 9. Just then, some men brought to Jesus a paralytic lying on a stretcher. So there were friends who brought their paralyzed friend to Jesus. Seeing their faith. Whose faith? Not singular faith. Collective faith. Seeing their faith.

  Oh, that we would have faith to bring our friends to Jesus. Same chapter, Matthew 9. Jesus turned to a woman and saw her. Have courage, daughter. He said, your faith has saved you, and the woman was made well from that moment. If you read that passage, this woman who had been suffering for 12 years, walked up behind Jesus and touched his robe. And she had faith enough to believe if she could just touch the hem of the Messiah's garment.

  They were demon-possessed by legions. You know what Jesus did? He invited them into the kingdom. Now, some pigs lost their life in the invitation. You can go home and read that. It's Matthew 9 and 10. But those that were watching the swine came away with two major thoughts. They went to the village and said, guys, all the animals have died. Not good. And then they said, but you won't believe the two men.
