  Therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you. If you've ever wondered if you matter to God. Matthew 11, 28. Jesus says, come to me, all who are weary. Parents, can I get an amen? I will give you rest, Jesus says. Rest for our souls. If you've ever wondered, does my life matter?

  That whoever believes in him, that one son named Jesus, will not perish but have everlasting life. It actually in CSB says eternal life, but I'm sharing it how I remembered it. Jesus is clear that he is the way. And not only in John, we have in Matthew 11, 27. Jesus proclaims, no one knows the father except the son and anyone to whom the son desires to reveal him.

  And Matthew 11 says that you will never enter the kingdom of heaven by force. Self-righteousness only leads to hell. There's another symptom here though. Paul says, not only is the zeal of God ignorant because of our sin. Not only are we self-righteous to the core and we overcompensate for our sin. But he says in verse three, that in our attempt to be holy, we have not submitted to God's righteousness.

Who's Your King

  God is no stranger to your restlessness. That's why Jesus says in Matthew 11, 28, he says, come all you who are weary, which means when Jesus says that, there are some of us that are weary. Because Jesus is not simply speaking in platitudes. He's speaking to people who are weary. And he says, come all who are weary, and I will give you rest. Jesus promises us rest from our burdens.
