And the refrain sounds like this in Judges 2, 11. And the Israelites, plural, did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

So, real quickly, just to recap. What do we see just a couple of weeks ago in Judges chapter 2? That Joshua, this servant of the Lord, he has died at the age of 110. And then the Bible tells us that after this happened, another generation rose up that did not know the Lord or the works that he had done for Israel. And this is the generation that Judges is focusing on. So, this book immediately starts in a tough place.

Now, previously, when Joshua sent the people away, the Israelites had gone to take possession of the land, each to his own inheritance. So Judah, they had their land.
