Asking for a Friend

  It's going to surprise you. His name was 2 Peter. But in 1 Peter 5, verse 7, Peter would write this. Talking to a people who, he said, I need you to endure trials. I want you to endure suffering. And he says, church, if you love Jesus, don't forget this. He says, cast all of your cares upon Jesus because he cares for you.

  To tell you what your life needs to look like. No. May we have hearts that are full of the Holy Spirit and to serve faithfully. Church, we have to care. We have to care about life. Jesus is reminded, reminds us of this in 1 Peter 5. That we should cast all of our cares upon Jesus. Why? Because he, he cares for you. There is never a time in your life where Jesus looks with folded arms when you pray and say,

  Do you remember what Peter calls Jesus in 1 Peter 5 for? Jesus is called the chief shepherd. How did Peter know that? How did Peter know that Jesus was gentle? That he was meek? That he was lowly in heart? That he was watchful? That he had concern? Because Peter saw the chief shepherd live before him day after day after day. We know that because 1 Peter says, 1 Peter 5, "She who is in Babylon, which is Rome, chosen together with you, sends you greetings, as does Mark, my son."
