Ecclesiastes

• 3:01Proverbs 1:7

  Now, we find this unique juxtaposition in these three books. For instance, we read in Proverbs, chapter 1, verse 7. The word says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but fools despise wisdom and discipline." So Proverbs, to fear God is to find wisdom. Ecclesiastes 1:8, which we will land on today. For with much wisdom is much sorrow.

  …to be wise in the way we live. And we want to be wise, as the scriptures say, we want to be wise unto salvation. So why the Proverbs? Proverbs are short sayings that give us wisdom. And we do know that in the Proverbs, Proverbs 1, that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. So without the fear of the Lord, there is no wisdom. So if you say, well, Lord, make me smart, make me wise.
