Some of you are biblical scholars and say you're turning in your Bible right now thinking, okay, well, pastor, Micah 5, where's the son of David? Zephaniah 1, where's the son of David? Malachi 3, verse 5, the last book of the Bible, where's the son of David? Then I would say, well, why did you stop there? Why not turn in your Bibles to Matthew chapter 1, in verse 1, where Matthew says,

We're here to, to know more about you and how we can love you more. And we just ask these things in Jesus' precious name. Amen. So I'm going to be reading the, uh, first six verses of Micah five, uh, in our passage today, we're going to see two things. We're going to see a defeated ruler and we're going to see a conquering King. Verse one. Now daughter, who is under attack? You slash yourself in grief.

Why is that good news? That means you can trust, you can trust the gospel, because it's deep. It's ancient. Micah 5, 2 says to the Savior, Bethlehem, you are a small among the clans of Judah, but one will come from you. His origin is from antiquity. Some of you think you are old. You ain't got nothing on Jesus. You might be old, but you're not ancient, and you know who you are. I'm not going to call names.
