  When Jesus set his face to Jerusalem, God shone his face upon us. But don't just believe me. Believe a young lady named Anna. So if you have your Bibles, again, turn to Luke. And Luke frames up his gospel with this idea of Jesus determining to go to Jerusalem to make a way for you and I. Luke 2, 38. Anna was a prophetess who was well along in years.

For our boys and girls, Christmas is not an Oculus. It's not an iPad. For our adults, Christmas is not Sudoku. Christmas is so much greater than anything we could offer from Earth.

Who's Your King

  Can you think of any other young person in Scripture that says this person grew in wisdom and in stature with both God and man? The Son of Man, the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, Luke 2, 5, 2. And for our students, scholars would say that's the only verse in Scripture that describes Jesus' teenage years. That he grew in wisdom and in stature. You see, now we see the Lord's purposeful spirit.

Solid Ground

  So, where can we go to find out about Jesus' adolescence? There's only one passage, and that's Luke chapter 2. So, if you have your Bibles, if you would turn to the Gospel of Luke with me. Matthew, Mark, Luke, Luke chapter 2. And as you find your way there, this entire passage concludes with this summary. A beautiful passage. Pastor Benny knows it well because it's the only verse that speaks to Jesus as a student.
