  It's as if nothing could deter him from this holy mission to prepare a way for you and I. Jesus set his face so that God would shine his face upon us. And Luke says it this way, Luke 13, 22. The Son of God made his way to Jerusalem. Luke 18, 31. Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Luke 19, 28.

  Jesus set his face to Jerusalem that our sin might be paid. Church, you have been redeemed. This is our hope. But Jesus also not only set his face to Jerusalem, but he looks and sets his face upon those who have yet looked at him. Turn to Luke 13, 34. Again, Luke is framing up his gospel.

  And it's interesting that Jesus would use that language. Because in Luke chapter 13, on the Sabbath day, which is Saturday, that's the day where you're not supposed to do any work. Jesus is in the synagogue. And He encounters, the Bible says, she's a daughter of Israel. A daughter of Jacob. And for 18 years, she has this infirmity. She has this disabling spirit. And Luke 13 says, and Luke's a doctor, he would know.

  And Luke 13 says, and Luke's a doctor, he would know. He said, it's so bad that she's hunched over. She's crippled of the back. And listen to how Luke describes this scene in verse 11. When Jesus saw her, He called out to her. Now remember, this woman is, she's hunched over. She's bent over. Jesus calls out to her.

  That's why Jesus says that he is the way. That he is the truth. That he is the life. There's no other way. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. The only unforgivable sin is you rejecting, whether it's by action, thought, pride, arrogance of saying, you know what? I can't repent of this. Because scripture is very clear. Luke 13, 3.
