…You think it is. The word fish is only used three times in Jonah and it's all around this section. So we're going to begin in verse 17. We're going to look at repentance and the power of that in our lives. Verse 17 of Jonah chapter one. The Lord appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah.

*Sounds of the game* Well, in case you weren't paying attention, welcome back to Jonah today, the book of Jonah. We will begin in Jonah 1:7. Now, there are many who would say and argue that Jonah is only story. It is pure fiction, and I just want to debunk that. I don't see anything in the text, anything in the Hebrew, that would suggest that this is a literary creation only.

Jonah 1 verse 7. I'm reading from the Christian Standard Bible, which begins this way in verse 7 of Jonah 1. "Come on!" The sailors said to each other, "Let's cast lots. Then we will know who is to blame for this trouble we are in." So they cast lots and the lot singled out Jonah. Then they said to him, "Tell us, who is to blame for this trouble we're in?
