No, fourth graders think they know everything. I'm in kindergarten. And all I have to worry about is nothing at all. To you who say, well, I'm not a shepherd, listen to the good shepherd's words in John 10. Jesus would say to you and to me, Jesus says, I am the good shepherd. He says, I know my sheep. And they know me.

They say, well, that's the warning. You said there would be hope. I don't hear hope. Okay, well, let's look at that. John 10 and then Romans 8 and then Philippians 6. So we'll look in that order. Does this mean we live in despair? Certainly not. Because in conjunction with warning passages in the New Testament, we find these beautiful patchworks of assurance. O-W-N, not O-N. They are those that Jesus has called, those that he has elected. He has called them out. It's a reminder in John 10 that Jesus is the gatekeeper. He is the good shepherd, that his sheep know his voice, and he knows them. Now, I love what Jesus describes his people, the way he describes them, the way the Bible describes them. God is possessive over his people.

He is the bread that satisfies. He is the light that shines brightness into every dark corner of our lives. But Jesus continues even further in John 10, verse 7. He says, I am bread and I am light. In Jesus 10, verse 7. He says again, truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. Now let me give you the context of this. Some of these great I am statements always come on the back end of a powerful miracle.
