Church, faithfulness is greater than fame. And the writer of Hebrews does the same exact thing for us. Hebrews 11 is this hall of faith. And the writer of Hebrews gives you some very famous Yahweh-focused people. People like Abel, who offered a pleasing sacrifice to the Lord. People like Noah, who faithfully built an ark when there was no rain.

He sent His son Jesus, not for the 99, but to find the one lost. And that is us. That is you. Remember the story of Rahab. But the story doesn't end in Joshua. There's so much more to Rahab's life. I want us to think really quick about Hebrews chapter 11. Today's message that I didn't share earlier was from shame to fame.

Maybe you grew up poor or you are poor and you just feel like, "I'll never shake that label and God will never use me because of this." Maybe you have a past that is difficult to think about. Can I tell you what happens to Rahab? Hebrews 11 says this about her life. The shameful lady, shameful past, shameful occupation. Hebrews 11, which is called the Hall of Faith.

This is why Hebrews chapter 11 tells us, we're going to see in several weeks, that the walls of Jericho came tumbling down. Why? Because by faith, the walls of Jericho fell down after they marched. You will never receive God's promises in your life. You will never experience spiritual breakthrough, boundary crossing, unless you exercise your faith. Do you see the sequence of the word?

Get on the Bible reading plan. We've provided one in our worship guide. Get in a program where you put the word of God in your heart. For me, it was Hebrews 11. That without faith, it is impossible to please God. Devote yourselves to the word. Be people of the book for his glory in your good. The mission of God takes devotion to the right things. And this devotion is powerful. As we're going to see, devotion to God is, is powerful.
