The language used in 2 Samuel chapter 7 is not birth language. It is adoptive language. It is adoptive language. It's God saying, I will be his father because I have adopted him as my son. Think about what Galatians 4 says. When the time came to completion, God sent his son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law. So that we, plural language, we is you and me.

If sin makes you an outsider, listen to Galatians 4. But God sent His Son to redeem, have you heard that word before? To redeem those under the law that we might receive verse 5, the full right of sons. Kinsmen, redeemer language, lever right marriage, right? Jesus made a way for those who would be forgotten to be part of the family. Church, this is what the gospel does.
